It’s 4 years today since Ireland became the first country in the world to legalise same sex marriage with a referendum vote. Thousands and thousands of Irish people abroad travelled home to vote YES and change their country. They started the trend with the hashtag #hometovote and this caught the attention of the world, images of our referendum became viral. It is amazing now that a couple like Dell and Sam chose to fly to Ireland from America to get married here in a place that accepts and loves people no matter what their sexual orientation. May 22nd will always be an emotional day for me. I get to live free and happy in this beautiful little country and I’m so proud to call Ireland my home. Happy Marriage Equality Day everyone! 🌈🌈🌈 And congratulations Sam and Dell, it was a privilege for me to be there on your wedding day.
