This photo shoot in Galway was unexpected and super fun!
Corey and Kelly flew to Ireland from the States and stayed around for a week. I got an email from Corey a day before saying that she scheduled a photo shoot with a photographer from Galway but mixed the dates up and they missed it! Thankfully I had a slot free and I was able to accommodate them at short notice.
I underestimated how much fun we were about to have! We walked around the city and I managed to be their tour guide while taking pictures. It was a sunny day so the atmosphere was very relaxed. We talked about many things, like photography (Corey is a photographer as well), food (Kelly is a restaurant owner), travelling and our families as well as the same sex referendum in Ireland and how they were so happy to hear about the Yes vote.
There are all sorts of characters around Galway and that’s why I love it, you’ll meet young people, old people, true locals, students, non-nationals from all over the world, blow-ins and tourists. Interestingly enough on the photoshoot we met a love-a-phobe! Can you believe it! I don’t know what you call someone who is afraid of love so I’ve come up with ‘love-a-phobe’. So the story goes like this … I was confronted by a man who had a problem with Corey and Kelly being affectionate in public. All I had to do was remind him that Corey and Kelly are just two people who love each other… he seemed to get over it pretty quickly and we all had a laugh about it later.
Corey and Kelly continued exploring Ireland over the following days, visiting Clare and Kerry. I’m so glad I got to spend a few hours with them … Time flies when you’re having fun!
Here are a few pictures from our photo shoot.
