This was my first wedding in Dublin City. I was a bit nervous because I am a country girl and I live in a little town just outside a bigger town called Galway :)
Today I am only sharing the slideshow with you, just the highlights from the day.
I met Eduardo and Rory in their apartment for a few quick shots and then we moved to The Unitarian Church on St Stephen's Green. The ceremony was just beautiful! I cried and felt a bit embarrassed. I cry at every wedding but this time I kinda made a show of myself hahaha. I don’t even know anymore if me being so emotional is a blessing or a curse.
After the ceremony we moved to the Morrison Hotel. At this stage it was so wet that I gave up on the idea of having any pictures taken outside. But because it’s Ireland and we have like four seasons in one day by the time the guys had something to eat the weather cleared and we were ready to go out! And again, I was super moved when passers by were saying “Congratulations!” to Eduardo and Rory.
Today is the third anniversary of the gay marriage referendum in Ireland.
I clearly remember that day, the joy, the tears (obviously), and the relief. I felt so happy that Ireland is my home and that I am surrounded by such amazing people.
Happy May 22!
Here are a few words I stole from Eduardo’s Instagram’s feed, I hope he doesn’t mind :)
“Such a pleasure to have @may22photography for our wedding. It was such a great time and made us feel so comfortable with everything and joyful to see that she was having as much fun as we were. Grateful to see something so personal treated so well through the whole day!"
Stay tuned for more pictures from this amazing wedding!
